Retail Center
Frisco, TX
The City of Frisco's extensive open space requirements helped foster the creation of dynamic social spaces for a multipurpose retail center environment. Given the long, linear nature of the development, a vine-motif paving pattern was chosen. The sinuous pattern flows through all of the retail center's separate areas, with a series of social nodes along the vine’s "trunk"; these nodes include pergola-enclosed seating areas with flowering accents, limestone blocks (accent and seating), and a "flower" at the apex of the vine (flowering accent trees in a meadow, surrounding a naturalistic seating space). Extensive tree plantings form the vine's "foliage".
Attention to detail is evinced throughout the design, notably in the paving patterns and textures, with pavers in charcoal grey/medium grey/cream, and buff-colored concrete paving in both acid-wash and exposed aggregate textures.
